Here are a few stories to read this morning.

  • Robin Phillips explains how you can opt out of letting Facebook use your content to train its AI.
  • The RWA filed for bankruptcy this week. While I do hold a grudge against the folks responsible for that incident several years ago, I had hoped the organization itself could be remade and continue to server authors.
  • Mariana Mazzucato points out how AI is a resource guzzling ecological nightmare.
  • The reason this matters is that AI is not a great new thing – it’s just a really expensive way to writer software which is really good at guessing.
  • Esquire digs into the marketing work required to have a best-selling debut novel

P.S. You should check out my free downloads page.  (I used to offer lead magnets to encourage people to sign up for my mailing list. Now I just give the lead magnets away.)
