I used to bristle at author income surveys because I didn’t like hearing that creators weren’t making a living, but now that I have created a bunch of different types of art, I have realized that the surveys are irrelevant. Creating art is easy; creating something people want to buy and marketing it is a completely different issue.
Lester del Rey is credited with creating the fantasy genre publishing industry as we know it today.
