Here are a few stories to read this morning.

  • Did you notice that Amazon disabled the Kindle Loan feature last month? (I didn’t – a reader pointed it out. Thanks!, Phillip!)
  • The Oxford University Press has proposed committing a very British form of heresy: removing excess letters from words such as honour.
  • As this author explains, there are times when you want one-star reviews
  • Cat Rambo is right when she tells authors to stop multi-tasking.  (Alas, some of us do not have a choice, which is why I have learned to both manage my ADHD and lean into it.)
  • Jonathan Bailey digs into the Can’t Be Evil NFTs (it’s an attempt to replicate Creative Commons, but with NFTs mixed in).
  • Merriam Webster added 370 words to the dictionary this month.

P.S. If you are looking for an artist to design the background of your new SF book cover, may I suggest Grand Failure? (deviant art, Instagram) I am a huge fan of this artist, and have used their work in several projects. I even built a Linktree-style site as a tribute (Grand-Failure.com).

Hi, I'm Nate.

I build and fix websites for authors, and I am also a tech VA. I can build you a website that looks great and turns visitors into fans, and I can also fix your tech when it breaks. Let me fight with tech support so you don’t have to.

My blog has everything you need to know about websites and online services. Don’t see what you need. or want personalized help? Reach out.
