Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.
- Harshini Fernando explains why authors need a website.
- Penny Sansevieri has the scoop on authors being locked out of Amazon Author Central. BTW, does the image on that post look AI-generated to you?
- If you are looking for an alternative to the now-defunct NaNoWriMo, Reedsy has a few suggestions.
- A new lawsuit has been filed against Salesforce over using pirated books to train its LLM. (PDF)
- A Texas school district has closed its middle school libraries.
Yes, I think the image on Penny Sansevieri’s post is AI-generated. I didn’t notice at first, but there are four fingers clearly visible on his left hand, plus the end of an extra finger sticking out of his hair.
Then I opened the image in a new tab to have a closer look. The image file name is a bit of a giveaway: ChatGPT-Image-Oct-6-2025-11_10_57-AM.webp
🙂
I am embarrassed to say I didn’t think to check the file name, LOL. Thanks!
