Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.

  • When was the last time you checked how your site looks in Google?  Does it even show up? (not all sites do)
  • Peter Derk has a great summary of why I and a lot of internet lefties like me generally support the Internet Archive, but oppose it on the topic of The Open Library.
  • Thad McIllroy is absolutely right in that AI is going to turn book publishing upside down.
  • Jonathan Bailey explains how the USA Supreme Court’s ruling in the Andy Warhol case is bad news for AI-generated content.

P.S. I admit that I have mixed feelings about AI-generated art, in particular when it shows up on stock art sites. On the one hand, for the firs time ever I now have an adequate supply of artwork for a certain niche project, but on the other hand I am seeing a lot more crappy AI-generated art. And I am not talking about bad art so much as badly made art which isn’t even usable for backgrounds.

Hi, I'm Nate.

I build and fix websites for authors, and I am also a tech VA. I can build you a website that looks great and turns visitors into fans, and I can also fix your tech when it breaks. Let me fight with tech support so you don’t have to.

My blog has everything you need to know about websites and online services. Don’t see what you need. or want personalized help? Reach out.
