For all the emphasis we place on videos and podcasts, it’s an indisputable fact that images are a better way to convey information. They’re processed in the brain faster than words and take far less time to absorb than a 30-minute video.

This is why infographics have proven so popular. At their best, they transform complex information into graphics that are both visually appealing and easy to grasp.

But getting to that point can be hard, which is why it’s often a good idea to take the advice of experts and then use a specialized infographics tool to smooth out the bumps and to speed up the process.

Here are sixteen sites and apps you can use to make infographics, including four sites that specialize in making infographics, iOS apps and an Android app, which offer a mobile solution to this problem, and 8 more sources you can use to build the parts of an infographic, and assemble it yourself.

Infogr.am

This is an all in one site where you can make interactive maps, charts, and infographics.

Canva

This all-around graphic editing site can make everything from book covers to posters to, yes, infographics.

Visme

This is an all in one site where you can make interactive maps, charts, and infographics.

PiktoChart

This site has all the tools you need to make an infographic – all you have to do input the data.

Vizualize.me

How would you like to make an infographic out of your resume? Here you go.

Inkscape

This is an image editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux. It is similar to Gimp, except Gimp is a photo editor while Inkscape is designed to edit rasters, or graphics.

In short, this is an app you can use to create an infographic.

PicMonkey

This online photo editor could be useful for making or assembling the parts of an infographic, but it’s not a free app. There’s a seven-day free trial, but no sign of the costs.

Live Editor

This is a chart maker, which means that some may overlook it when searching for an infographic tool. But what is an infographic if not a collection of charts and other data?

PhotoVisi

You can use this collage maker to take all of the charts, lists, and other graphics made elsewhere and assemble them into a neat infographic.

PixelMap Generator

This site lets you make custom maps with your choice of annotations, colors, and labels.

StatPlanet World Bank

This is a build-your-own map and chart site. If you need to visualize stats about a country, region, or the world, this would be a great place to start.

ChartsBin

This site doesn’t make infographics, per se, but it does let you make custom interactive maps.

Android Apps

Photo Infographic Gen Lite

This app is intended to help you show off your photography stats, and from what I have seen it cannot make an infographic off of other data.

iOS Apps

Grafio 3 Lite

Graphic Maker
