Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.

  • Publishers Weekly has the details on a new survey of British readers.
  • The review site eBookFairs.com might have a positive recommendation from a well-known author, but it doesn’t appear to be working for everyone.
  • Japanese legislators are promising to take action following news of ChatGPT creating images in the style of Studio Ghibli.
  • One ethical problem complication with the opposition to these AI-generated images is that it’s well accepted that artists can create images in another’s style or with another’s IP. But now that there’s a button you can click to do it, it’s wrong?
  • The USA Copyright Office has released a new copyright registration toolkit.
  • B&N has reportedly released an update for the Nook which adds more font options but removed the Georgia font.

P.S. If you’re going to be at the Washington Writers Conference this weekend, be sure to stop by my table and say hello.
