Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.

  • The infringement case an Australian publisher filed against Disney was decided in Disney’s favor, and with good reason.
  • Minnesota is about to pass a law banning “hard” book bans. (“Soft” book bans, where a book simply gets weeded for bad reasons, might not be affected.)
  • The BBC reminds us that computer-generated texts have been around for decades, just not in a viable form until recently.  (actually, I’d say it’s still not viable)
  • Jonathan Bailey raises the alarm over online communities selling content you created to AI companies.
  • Jaire Sims shares what he wished he knew before publishing his first novel.
  • The scam “bill” which inspired this post just showed up in my mailbox again, so here are six mail and web scams to watch out for.
