Here are a few stories to read this Monday morning.

• Amazon is going to shut down the Kindle store in China – next June.  (Given how much can change in a year, I would not give this much attention.)
• Books continue to get made into movies, but the ownership of the production companies has changed. 
• There’s a new Nook. 
• John Wilker questions whether indie authors should invest time in indie bookstores.
• The Millions blog has just discovered the idea of books as decoration, and they do not approve.
• Amazon is dropping support for the on-device bookstore from several really old Kindle models.  (Given how bad the book buying experience is on a Kindle, I don’t see a downside.)
• The New Statesman has discovered that bookstores are doing okay in the age of Amazon.
