Should I hire writers on Fiverr?

Please tell me you’re joking, that you don’t really plan to spend so little on content. While you might get a few good articles, paying $5 for subpar content can only hurt you in the end.

Rather than use Fiverr, let me tell you why you should instead use services like TextBroker and UpWork to find the writing help you need. You’ll pay more, but but the quality of the work will be so much higher.

O O O

I’m not sure you’re familiar with the phrase, but the industry term for what we are discussing is “content marketing”. This is when a business or a freelancer uses blog posts, graphics, and other content to catch the attention of potential customers and sell them on the quality and value of a business’s services.

Content marketing is a well-established topic that is widely discussed online. There are many different viewpoints on how to go about content marketing, but there is one point that all the experts agree on. Ask anyone and they will tell you that the success of your content marketing effort hinges on the quality of your content.

Your content can’t just be adequate, or good; it needs to be epic. Each piece of content you put online needs to wow your audience. It’s often the first time that your potential customer encounters you, and you need to put your best foot forward.

Think of it as if you were inviting a potential client out for dinner. You want to serve the best meal you can, so you wouldn’t take them to a back-alley burger joint that failed its health and safety inspection, would you? No, you’d take them to a great restaurant.

No offense to the people on Fiverr (they have to make a living too) but a $5 blog post from Fiverr is a lot closer to that back-alley burger joint than a good restaurant. The writers who create those $5 posts for the most part live in southeast Asia and are not native English speakers. Their prices are so cheap that they care more about volume than quality, so they can’t spend the time to research your topic and become an expert.

As a result that $5 Fiverr blog post will have spelling and grammar errors, it will miss important details, and it won’t make a good lasting impression on readers. In fact, it might even leave a negative impression, driving your potential customers to do business with your competitors.

But you don’t have to take my word for it; go buy a couple $5 blog posts, and then share them with a few discerning colleagues. It won’t cost you much to find out first hand what I have told you in this blog post:

You get what you pay for, and when you pay very little you will get exactly that.
